BERLIN · thursday is the opening of PLATOON member Monica Carocci's latest film photo exhibition, where she once again reconstructs the representation of illusion through photography. the opening is will take place at a nbm studio on Münzstr. 21, beginning at 6pm and all are invited to take part!

Carocci plays with perception and point of view, confusing the viewer's sense of reality. by creating a suspension of belief, it allows her to manipulate and misuse photography in order to question our ready-made perception of the visual world.

starting with film photography, in the dark room Carocci then manipulates the development of the negative by burning, shading, filling material in, scratching it or adding colour and light effects. for more about Carocci, read a short bio here.
