BRIAN HUNTER has created a fun house of interactive installations pitting the viewer up against their own reality. the exhibition attempts to manipulate the viewer into contemplating his or her own self-control, impulses, and desires. the works indicate that there are some levels of uncontrollable powers beyond our own lives and show how the uncertainty about these powers can influence our personal reactions and awareness.
the exhibition runs at KUNSTHALLE GWANGJU from 11.11. - 4.12.
BRIAN HUNTER is originally from winnipeg, manitoba, canada.
he studied fine arts at concordia university in quebec .coming to korea in 2009 he painted and made high-quality artists' oil paints by hand.
hunter has shown his work extensively in europe and canada and 2010 marked the first time he showed his work in asia.most recently hunter’s work has been screened at the ourense film festival in spain and at videoformes in france. CARPE NIGHTEM is hunter’s first major solo exhibition in korea.it is expected that he will follow it soon with others.
