Newcastle · Pixel Palace is inviting artists working with new technologies and moving image to apply to this year’s artists in residence program based at the tyneside cinema.

the artists in residence program is now in its third year, offering three artists the opportunity to develop new work within a peer supported environment that engages with the working cinema and its surroundings. following an atelier process, this program presents an active period of time to develop and research new work.

an integral part of the artists in residency program is an active engagement with the factory, our group of young artists aged between 14-19 years, who work collaboratively on as seasonal basis to create new work alongside professional artists.

the artist in residence 2013 program will begin on monday the 26th of august and end on friday the 25th of october. artists must be based at the cinema throughout the whole residency period.

this opportunity is open to UK based and international artists, who can evidence this level of professional experience and practice.
