SEOUL · RARE GROOVE

"there are different ways to define RARE GROOVE. however, its definition is mainly about the way of choosing songs from soul, jazz, funk, rock, latin of 70's & 80's music. with the appearance of hip hop and other styles of dance music, a lot of djs began to dig for original and obscure songs to sample from and songs going well with these styles of dance music. often, these songs were not considered A-class but B- or even C-class songs. over time, the collection of these findings made up a new genre – RARE GROOVE was born.

this time, i would like to present RARE GROOVE that I've been digging for 17 years to you."

"레어 그루브란 무엇인가? 레어 그루브를 정의할 수 있는 방법은 여러가지가 있지만, 주로 7,80년대의 소울, 재즈, 펑크, 락, 라틴음악과 관련되어 있다. 댄스음악 그리고 힙합음악의 등장과 함께 많은 디제이들은 구하기 힘든 음악 샘플들과 잘 어울리는 음악을 믹싱하기 시작하였다. 주로 잘 알려진 음악보다는 특이한 음악을 틀고자 했던 디제이들에 의해 댄스플로어에 적합하면서도 동시에 희귀한 그루브를 들려주고자 하는 움직임이 시작되었다.

이번주 공연에서 17년동안 깊이 탐색했던 레어 그루브를 선보이고자 한다."
