ART FORUM REVIEW PART 1 yesterday we fullfilled our duty as cultural embassadors in a marathon through the outskirts of the berlin art forum. 3 different locations, 3 different foci, 3 blasting critiques and one definite favourite
TUE 23/11/2010
1. künstlerhaus bethanien- open studio: there is no way that any of these artists have ever produced any kind of art in the pristine, virginal white-wall surrounding of their studios. 3 floors of beautiful art spaces with not a splotch of paint in sight. hmmm. equally under-represented are local artists. then again the press release tells me that this is intended.. so no grudge here.
what we've found was a wide mixture of styles and media. our favourites would probably have to be: · yoba valombola from namibia with his voodoo-esque sculptures · robert quint from belgium with his unmistakable statement about the state of existance and, · soda_yerk from australia with his si-fi movie remix
