Some person in Japan had the idea of making the most powerful camera you can build in your house, he used an EPSON scanner and some old Canon lenses, a lot of tape, glue and some wood to build this 130 megapixel camera. It produces images of 13,068 x 10,173 pixels, it has some noise on the images it takes, but you have to consider that the lenses are old ones, and the scanner is using 1,200dpi, I will say that the system is 20 times cheaper than the most powerful DSLR.
It is really impressive to see the camera working and some of the sample photos you can find on Flickr.
We need to find a new way to use our old stuff, and who knows we may find something great like this scanner camera...
