This October, PLATOON ARTIST LAB welcomed Swiss visual artist and designer Blanda to create her interactive exhibition, “HI, IT’S BLANDA.”
Initiated and supported by Berlin creative collective, Eve W/O Adam, the project was a statement on today’s Internet generation. In an effort to create a direct interaction between the artist and the observer, Blanda invited participants to share personal stories and memorabilia through SMS, phone calls, emails, and by contacting the artist via social media. Over the span of two weeks, the artist then reinterpreted this collection of messages onto one massive canvas, depicting a direct exchange between the digital and analogue realm.
The second phase of the project, was realized during the exhibition’s vernissage at PLATOON KUNSTHALLE Berlin. In a live performance, Blanda sliced the 4x5m canvas into individual square meter segments - sold out by nights end. Each square of canvas represented a memento of the different messages and memories captured by the artist.We are happy to welcome Blanda as the newest member of the PLATOON Network.
