REVIEW: CUT&PASTE SEOUL 2010 finally the day arrived for which we worked so hard: on last saturday CUT&PASTE SEOUL 2010 took place at PLATOON KUNSTHALLE!!!

for more than three month the whole PLATOON crew worked on this big event. as it was the first digital design tournament in korea we didn't know what to expect exactly, though we gave all our best to prepare this show as well as we possibly can. :)
all was set up, the workstations, the stage, the crew, the bar and of course the competitors and judges ready.
the motion graphic competitors came first and started their live work at 10am in the showcases.in an 8 hours session they created a motion clip of 15 seconds with the topic "maybe"
at 6pm the program began with SHOW&TELL. the three motion graphic judges, song joo myung, lumpens and fla presented their works, projects and design philosophy on the main stage.
at 8pm, when the main event started PLATOON KUNSTHALLE was already totally packed. thanks to our MC, artist hojun song,in cooperation with dj bedal boy, the crowd began to cheer right at the beginning of the show.
john, the founder of CUT&PASTE, who is touring in all 10 participating cities worldwide, gave all our judges a thorough briefing about judging procedure and categories, in this picture to our 2D judges.
the competitors were nervous and excited, ready to show what they have to offer in 15 minutes, infront of a live audience for the first time in their lives.
the 2D competitors worked with the topic "yes", after them the 3D competitors and judges came to the stage to present their interpretation of "no".
the topics where set by our art director and 2D judge ohyun, it was the first time, that the topics of the three diciplines were linked to each other: "yes", "no" and "maybe".
after the motion graphics clips and announcement of the winner, the 2D finalists came onto the stage to compete with the topic of 2000 won bill. at the end of the night, we had our three winners, jang sungyu for 2D, kim taeho for 3D and ha juan for motion graphics.
it was an amazing night and we want to thank all the competitors and judges, who were the main part of this unique event, thanks to all our helpers, partner and crew, the CUT&PASTE global team and john and everybody who was there, watched the show online and shared this wonderful night of creative spirit with us!
