SEOUL · having its successful launch party last may, this time PROJECT OBANGSAEK teamed up with Korea English Network (KEN) to give a boost in public awareness of korean culture.
BENSON LEE, movie director and founder of PROJECT OBANGSAEK, had a preview of a main clip interviewing people who have deep affections for Korea, a clip of korean style blind dating (sogetting) and his recent film, planet b-boy.
he also made a speech about these films alongside with the facts on how he became engaged in all these works he has done so far. all through his speech, he gave me an impression that he was truly attached to learning korean culture as he was narrating the story of his past life in the U.S and pointing out the difficulties of getting information about korea at that time.
for this reason, he brought up PROJECT OBANGSAEK and had an itching for opportunities to give to people with same objectives — spreading the word and providing data on korea as much as they can.
KEN was one of his Obangsaek companions and i would say, it was a quite appropriate group for this night since these guys actually put theory into practice, by having a monthly party or exchanging languages and extra activities that you might want to figure out later on.
merging into this chilled-out mood, it was overall a good night at which you could become intimate with people standing right next to you.
