In Mexico we have two heroes, "Luchadores", they are "El Santo" and "Blue Demon".
But what makes them heroes are for sure not the movies they made in the 70's but the fights in the wrestling arenas in Mexico. They have traveled from generation to generation fighting every month, passing the mask to their children to give us the chance to see them fight.
We all have a clear idea of how are they suppose to look when they fight, and also how they have to behave.
They are heroes because they bring joy to the families in Mexico, they stand for family values, they pay respect to their ancestors and do charity work for the mexican people.
Everyone in Mexico knows who El Santo (el enmascarado de plata) and Blue Demon are...
I have found a very nice Flickr with pictures of the wrestling culture in Mexico.
